Most people would love to be fit and healthy.  No one sits around thinking, “I just love being out of shape!”.  The problem is, there’s no magic pill we can take or special button we can just push to achieve our fitness goals.  It takes discipline and hard work. Easier said than done right?  There are some people that can go to the gym, workout and eat great without anyone pushing them or motivating them (or go for a run or other type of exercise). Tastes just like Chipotle’s corn salsa but it’s really a million times better!


2 cups canned corn kernels, drained
1 jalapeño, seeded and diced
1/4 cup diced red onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 avocado, halved, seeded, peeled and diced

In a large bowl, combine corn, jalapeño, red onion cilantro, lime juice, sugar and salt. Stir in avocado.

2⃣Stick to real food ingredients.

3⃣Avoid artificial food coloring.

4⃣Swap snacks. Instead of munching on chips and a candy bar, try an apple and an organic snack bar or a pear and some homemade nut mix made with almonds, peanuts, raisins and organic chocolate chips.

5⃣Trick your sweet tooth. One of the best things about clean eating is you don’t have to give up sweets! Instead of making cookies with white flour and white sugar, try it with whole wheat flour and organic sugar.

Regardless of whether or not we like our veggies, there’s no denying they’re good for us–and getting better. A new study in the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health shows that people who ate seven servings of fresh fruits and veggies each day had a 25% reduced risk of dying of cancer and a 31% reduced risk of dying of heart disease. And the folks who favored veggies over fruit had even better odds.
